Mark your calendars! Live music in the afternoon and an exclusive movie screening at night.

Wednesday, July 18th is going to be a very special day at the
East Lyme Public Library. If you like hockey, rock concerts,
retro animated films, and Harry Nilsson, you will love our program offerings for children and their families.

The fun begins from 2:30 to 3:15pm with a free live concert by the Zambonis Duo. The famous Hockey Monkey may make a surprise appearance, too! The Zambonis are the only all hockey rock band in the world. Even if you don't like hockey, you will love their high energy music, hilarious lyrics, and zany antics.

To enjoy the show to the fullest, you may want to learn the songs first. How? It's easy! Just borrow their CD's at the library. Click on this link to reserve a copy.

Music critics love the Zambonis:

The Zambonis (a pop/rock quartet named after the ice-grooming machine), the concept is elevated to an art form that won't melt under the heat of critics or music fans. Despite the specificity of the album's theme, the Zambonis rock out like the best power-pop units.

The band—which writes songs about hockey and nothing but hockey—is no novelty act. It’s been around for twenty years, and its new album, “Five-Minute Major (in D Minor),” shows how they stay out of the penalty box. It’s a tight collection of groovy power-pop material built on a good sense of humor.
