Congratulations
to Anushka Joshi, the winner of the 2015 Tween Read Week prize drawing.
Each tween was asked to write a one or two sentence book review. Here
are some of the entries:
The book I read was called Bridge to Terabithia.
I liked this book because Jess (the main character) learned to believe
in himself, and Leslie taught him that. The best part is Jess started to
stand up to his dad. -- Anushka, Grade 6.
Smile
is about a girl who had to get braces because she fell and knocked out
her two front teeth. It's all about her adventure with braces and how
her friends treat her now. -- Jeidy, Grade 7.
I read Liesl & Po, and I like how the two kids are very strong and can fight the hardest people. --Charis, Grade 8.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid is silly and realistic fiction, and it's kind of funny.
--Mark, Grade 6.
El Deafo is interesting and a great story. Also, it's a true story.
--Samantha, Grade 6.
Recently I read Dragon Rider
by Cornelia Funke. I really enjoyed it because I liked that it had some
real places in the real world and some fantasy. I also liked it because
it said some things about my country. --Tenkyi, Grade 6.
Full House. Michelle: I liked the book because it was funny and a great book to read.
--Ashland, Grade 6.
